This city-wide celebration will take place July 2nd-4th and will include kids games, vendor and food booths, dunk tank, contests and cake walks, plus a parade and fireworks on July 4th.

The fireworks display will be located in front of Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, but can be seen from just about anywhere along the Bay!
The 20-minute fireworks show commences at 10pm but, before the fireworks, there is more to enjoy!!
6 PM – 10 PM – Enjoy a la carte food and beer offerings in the North Parking Lot of The Mill
10 PM – BLAST BY THE BAY - Fireworks Extravaganza
Stick around for a 2nd night of Fireworks with the City of Coos Bay’s Fireworks display over the Bay. The fireworks begin at dark or approximately 10pm. The best viewing spot is from the Coos Bay Boardwalk!

Land and Sand Art Contest
7 – 10 am. Dock Beach. No entry fee. Award baskets for Best Sand Art, Best Kid’s Art, People's Choice Award and Best Stone and/or Driftwood Sculpture. Hosted by the Hoffmann Family and Friends.
Pancake Breakfast
7 – 10 am. Skuttlebutts, 557 9th Street. All you can eat! Pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, juice, milk, coffee. Adults: $10. Children 6 to 13: $6. Children under 5: free. Proceeds support scholarships. Hosted by Port Orford Rotary.
The Great Painted Rock Hunt
7 am on. Search for Jubilee Prize Rock around town. Bring to Coastal Swag, 1717 US 101 for prize. Hosted by Rock on Port Orford #ROPO.
Paddle Parade
8:30 am. Line up at 8 am. Pinehurst boat launch to 12th Street boat launch. Join us for a trip around the lake to kick off the 4th of July celebrations. Welcoming kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, catamarans, and other non-motorized vessels. Hosted by Port Orford Yacht Club.
Pickleball Open Play
9 – 11 am. Buffington Park.
Rummage Sale
9 am – 2 pm. 1536 US 101. Hosted by St John’s Women’s Guild.
Chalk Art Contest
10 am - 12 pm. US 101. Pick up chalk and get number at ’Neath the Wind Realty, 736 US 101. Write number next to artwork. Winners posted at 1 pm. Prizes available until 2 pm, then two weeks after. Chalk available starting June 20th, Monday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm.
Fourth of July Parade
11 am. 9:30 – 10:30 am line-up. US 101 from 19th to 8th Street.
Free Community BBQ
1 – 4 pm. 1738 US 101. Join us for a community BBQ. All donations will go to our local Meals for Neighbors and Fire Department.
Dinghy Races
1 pm. Battle Rock Beach. Two-person teams row out to a flagged marker and back. Two laps per person, four laps per team. Hosted by the Ashdowns.
Pet Show
1 pm. Skuttlebutts, 557 9th Street. Animals of all shapes and sizes welcome. No entry fee. Hosted by Beaver Rickel.
Jerry Can Races
2 pm. Port Orford Lifeboat Station Museum. Two-person relay teams compete on 50-yard course. Men, 42-pound cans. Women, 22-pound cans. 16 years and older. Honors Coasties who served at the rescue station from 1934 to 1970. Hosted by Cape Blanco Heritage Society.
Keg Toss
2 pm. Buffington Park. Entry fee. Toss an empty keg the furthest and win a prize. Adult entries only. Hosted by Amity Valet.
Cornhole Tournament
3 pm. Sign up at 2:30 pm. 1738 US 101. Join us for some backyard fun for a few friendly rounds of cornhole. Surprise gift basket donated by Rogue Credit Union for the winning team.enforced.

Two runs are offered, a 2-mile fun run and a 10K that attracts local competitors as well as running talent from other regions in the U.S. The routes are scenic and on closed roadways. A section of the 10K route is along the tree-lined Bear Creek Greenway. View the course map.
This event is a fundraiser for the Ashland and Phoenix High School cross country teams. You may also make a donation to the Ashland Parks Foundation when you register.
Challenge yourself with a 4k and bring your kids along to participate in the Kid's Fun Run. 17 & under race free. Race Day check-in is between 3rd/4th Street on Pine Street (in front of the old Banner Bank Parking Lot).

On July 4th, the sky over Reinhart Volunteer Park lights up with a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day.
This year's event will be on Friday, July 4, 2025, featuring he 3rd Annual Food Truck Festival, Classic Car Show, Bounce Fest 3.0, and a live concert featuring the Paper Flyers at 8 pm.
We are thrilled to announce that we have made a fun alternative plan for 4th of July! Our Outdoor BBQ is from 4pm-8pm featuring the Roadsters, and Lake of the Woods Resort will be hosting our 1st ever Laser Light Show! See you lakeside on the 4th!
To be absolutely clear: we are NOT having fireworks this year.

Bring your own Oregon State approved fireworks and we will provide launch pads for launching them. Launch pads will be on a first come first serve basis.
The Hull Center Gym will be open for games, cooling down and bathrooms. Bring your own food and/or snacks.

10:00 – 1/2 mile kid’s run – Free!
10:20 (or whenever the kid’s run is over) 4K Grown-up run –Free for members, but please sign-up on-line to help make race morning less crazy! $10 for non-members. Become a member and race for free!
Members will not be charged at check-out. You can also sign up race day from 9-9:45. Avoid the line and come early to sign up!
Want to participate but racing not your thing? We could use your help. Sign up to Volunteer! Various jobs and times available.
1/2-mile kid’s run and a 4K for grown-ups. Kid’s run is 1.5 times around the lake. 4K is 3 times around the lake followed by a HUGE hill in beautiful Mingus Park. You will then run on city streets, down another Mingus Park dirt trail, and finish on the paved path by the lake.
